Assigning Premium to a Server

A Premium or VIP subscription belongs to the Discord account that paid for it. That person chooses which servers get the plan by assigning their slots.

How many servers

SubscriptionServer slots
Premium2 servers
VIP5 servers

Who can assign premium

Both of these must be true for the person running the command:

  • They are the subscriber. The command only uses the slots of the account running it. Nobody can spend someone else’s subscription, and staff in the server can’t assign premium unless they paid for it themselves.
  • They manage the server. They are the server owner, or they have the Administrator or Manage Server permission in that server.

Obelisk permits and the trusted list don’t grant this. It depends only on the subscription and Discord permissions.

Assign a slot

In any channel of the server you want to upgrade, run:

/premium_assign

Obelisk replies privately with your plan and how many slots you’ve used, for example Slots 1/2. The server gets your plan’s features right away.

Free a slot

To move your plan to a different server, free the slot first. In the server you’re removing it from, run:

/premium_assign remove:True

Then run /premium_assign in the new server.

ReplyWhat it means
This Discord account does not have a Premium or VIP subscription. The account running the command hasn’t subscribed. Ask the person who paid to run it.
All 2 (or 5) subscription slots are in use. Unassign a server first.Free a slot on another server with remove:True.
You need Administrator or Manage Server to use this command. You aren’t the owner and don’t have either permission in this server.

When a subscription changes or ends

  • If you move from VIP to Premium while using more than 2 slots, the 2 most recently assigned servers keep the plan and the older ones are unassigned.
  • If a subscription ends, its servers go back to Free unless another subscriber has also assigned a slot there. Nothing is deleted. Settings and backups stay. See Downgrading.
